Last night was pretty good.
Went to dinner w/ Aubry, Jake, Nathan and his girlfriend at Mt. Fuji in Parker. I had some killer hibachi style lobster and steak. Much deliciousness was had by all.
Then we all went to Ponyo, a new animated film by Miyazaki (maker of Princess Mononoke, Spirited Away, Howl’s Moving Castle, etc.) They were actually showing it opening night at the movie theatre in the Denver suburb I live in (Parker, CO). I was happy to see that Miyazaki is now popular enough to get his films shown in small town theatres. Unlike Miyazaki’s earlier films in which there is some degree of darkness and strife, Ponyo was strangely upbeat throughout the entire movie. Although not my favorite work from Miyazaki, I thought it highly imaginative, beautiful and light hearted. If you’ve liked Miyazaki’s previous films, you’ll probably like this one too.
Then me and Aubry went up to Blackhawk, one of three towns in Colorado where gambling is legal. I won over $300. I won over $100 playing a ‘Jaws’ slot machine, and I just couldn’t lose at blackjack. : ‘ )

August 14th, 2009 Rockstar
Sorry for the lack of posting, some technical issues caused my site some problems, but they’ve been overcome.
Anyway, my most recent adventure: From July 22nd to the 26th me Matt and Jake all went to San Diego to attend Comic Con.
I’ve posted to the gallery with 50 random photos from the trip.
Some highlights:
- Walked around the convention floor and played some new video games in beta that won’t be out for another six months, got a ton of free swag, etc.
- Met Matt Groening
- Met Bruce Campbell
- Got my picture taken with: Green Women (a la Star Trek), a full sized Dalek, me walking through a StarGate (a la Stargate / SG1 / Atlantis) — see the gallery
- Saw a premiere of the new Green Lantern movie
- Saw a a ton of panels with TV creators/actors, comic book creators/writers, etc.
- Had some killer seafood for dinner on a pier
- Went to SeaWorld (it was actually kinda lame)
It was a ton of fun.
