At the root of the issue it isn’t Obama’s plan or the Republican’s ideas that need ‘fixing’ – the problem is the way Americans view healthcare:
Let me ask this: should healthcare be considered ‘infrastructure’ in the sense that it is a necessary part of a successful society (think: roads, schools, etc)? If the answer is ‘yes’ (as I believe), then it should be regulated like other parts of our societal infrastructure, to take the emphasis off of private institutions making a financial profit at the expense of the public. This is not to say we would take away the free market. The public sector still develops (and competes) in creating technologies and systems used in our infrastructure.

Me and Aubry took a trip to LA last week. We stayed at the Hilton on the Universal Studios lot. The first day we went to the Universal Studios Theme Park (which was actually fairly disappointing in my opinion), and then saw Ron White, a stand up comedian. I think Universal Studios was probably way cooler in the mid 90’s when Jurassic Park was fresh in everyone’s minds and 3D movies were something to marvel at. The Simpsons ride was pretty cool. : ‘ )
The second day we saw a live taping of the Bill Maher show. The trip overall was fun, but the vacation was not nearly long enough. It was really just a two day jaunt. I’ll post pics soon.
